Camels, zebras, kangaroos, and more can be found at this little-known exotic petting zoo in Idaho.
Today the kiddos & I took a field trip to the zoo :) I wanted to share what we did to make our trip super fun! I created these awesome Zoo passports that I found here. I attached the strings so the kiddos could wear them around their necks while walking around the zoo. I also printed these lovely stickers on sticky label paper that I cut out. They loved being able to find each animal to get their passport stamp (or sticker). Thank you Disney Family for creating these freebies! We definitely enjoyed them today! Thanks for stopping by! <3 Mrs. Smith

Are you rolling your eyes? I know what you're thinking: another bingo game? Really? Yes. My oldest son loves them and until he stops, I'm going to keep on making them to sneak in some learning. You've heard that old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," right? I made two versions of Zoo BINGO, one for each of my sons based on their abilities. I printed, cut in half, and attached them to mini clipboards. A freshly sharpened pencil for each and we were ready to have a roarin' good time at the zoo. Download a 4-page PDF file here that contains four game cards for each type of Zoo BINGO game. Pre-Reader Zoo BINGO Since our 4-year-old can't read, his card was entirely pictures. Our little guy is still struggling with learning to hold a pencil right and needed help x-ing through the animals we found. His BINGO game became a collaborative mother-son project. (Let's just say, I didn't mind one bit.) Zoo BINGO for proficient readers The BINGO card I made for our 8-year-old was entirely words, with each box containing an animal characteristic. To try and get a BINGO, my son had to either use his knowledge of animals or read the exhibit signs to learn about them. There was only one simple rule for my oldest son: you can only check one box off your BINGO card for each animal. For example, you could not check both the "African animal" and "animal with stripes" boxes when you see the tiger. It took no time at all before he had a BINGO. Did he stop checking off the boxes then? Nope. When our trip to the zoo came to an end, he had a total of four BINGOs on his card. Not quite black-out, but still quite an accomplishment. Other visitors at the zoo caught wind of the boys' BINGO games and offered help! Because both boys had done so well, we made a stop at the gift shop on our way out.

The girls are always taking my purse or John's wallet, rummaging through and dumping out the contents. So, I thought it would be fun to have their grown up accessories. I made them each a little purse, with a wallet full of play money. Inside was also a zoo passport to get them ready for our summer trip to the zoo. Plus, I printed a map of the Memphis zoo on legal paper then folded it accordion style. They've been carrying their purses everywhere, even to bed. J doesn't seem to understand she can put whatever she wants in it, and L wants hers to have exactly the same contents as mine. We've had plenty of play shopping and exchange of money - which is quiet hilarious. I've seen the zoo passport around. The San Diego zoo has a printable passport - that might work for other zoos, as well. I couldn't resist drawing my own though. I tried to make it generic, so it might work for any zoo, but I did especially include animals at the Memphis zoo. I always love having an opening page for kids to write their name and age. It makes it a keepsake, and I just love seeing their handwriting. I also left a space for them to write their favorite animals. Each page has a simple color drawing of several animals, with a blank star next to each animal. You can put those shiny star stickers or color them in as you see the animals (or later - I don't think I want to mess with it while we're actually looking). I left blanks on several pages where kids can draw animals they see that might not be included. You can download my Zoo Passport. You'll need to print it front and back on letter paper, then cut each page in half, assemble and staple in the middle. Libraries are so great for stuff like this. I rounded the corners of the books to make them more passport-y, too. I'll let you know how our zoo trip goes in a couple of weeks. Any tips for little ones and the zoo?

». Même l’homme a trouvé ça trop mignon.
