The Saint Andrew's Church is a major Baroque church located in Kiev, the capital ofUkraine. The church was constructed in 1747–1754, to a design by the Italian architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Andrew's_Church,_Kiev This wikipedia article is a bit outdated. The church has undergone major reconstruction recently, so the concerns about the building’s foundations should hopefully have been taken care of. Photographers Note: This photo itself is a major reconstruction of the original. The lower part of the photo had a big green ugly construction fence hiding the view. I went ahead and “borrowed” some grass from elsewhere in the photo and put the fence behind that. I also removed a guy from the steps. Sorry dude, but you got in the way. :-) Technical details: ISO 200 - 20mm - f/11 - 1/250

In geography, Sandspit is a landform made by the deposition of sand by the movement of tides. Spits are narrow and elongated – one end is attached to the mainland and the other is out in open water. A spit develops when waves meet the beach at an oblique angle, moving sediment down the beach and into the open waters where it is deposited in a narrow strip. As a spit grows, it might become stable and fertile and even support habitation. Here are some spectacular and scenic spits around the world.

Ascending to 14,410 feet above sea level, Mount Rainier stands as an icon in the Washington landscape. An active volcano, Mount Rainier is the most glaciated peak in the contiguous U.S.A., spawning six major rivers. Subalpine wildflower meadows ring the icy volcano while ancient forest cloaks Mount Rainier’s lower slopes. Wildlife abounds in the park’s ecosystems. A lifetime of discovery awaits. In the early 1930s the Civilian Conservation Corp constructed fire lookouts throughout the park to help protect the surrounding area from fire. Four historic lookouts still remain in the Mount Rainier National Historic Landmark District including Tolmie, Shriner, Fremont, and Gobblers Knob. Mount Rainier National Park is a United States National Park located in southeast Pierce County and northeast Lewis County in Washington state. It was one of the US's earliest National Parks, having been established on March 2, 1899 as the fifth national park in the United States.
