On Thursday, I came upon a twisted tree. Took one picture from the car with the window rolled down. I was at a stop sign and had to stop anyways, and there were no cars around, so, I did it. Then I though, this tree is amazing, I need to check this tree out a little closer. I parked, got up close and took a few more pictures. How does this happen? It's like a giant has tried to pull this tree out like a weed, twisting it. I have no idea what kind of tree it is. Is there a kind of tree that grows like this? Funny thing is, while I was taking the picture, the thought of tilting my head back to look at the leaves did not even enter my mind. 苗栗的山區拍到的, 在樹幹上不只一隻, 會在樹皮上鑽來鑽去, 顏色挺鮮豔, 放大看還蠻可愛~~~ 大紅姬緣椿 (姬緣椿科)體長 13-16 mm，觸角4 節、跗節3 節、口吻4節，一般植食性，體色紅色至紅褐色，小盾板周邊有一枚不明顯的黑色V字型斑紋，膜質翅及觸角、各腳黑色，普遍分布於平地至低海拔山 區，具刺吸式口器，常見成蟲、若蟲群集於路邊的台灣欒樹、榕樹、椰子樹等行道樹的樹液及果子，族群龐大，少數會吸食動物腐肉。 本科有2屬4種，本屬3種，另一屬叫環緣椿屬，型態不明。 本種又稱紅姬緣椿象、無患子椿象、臭屁蟲，與同屬的小紅姬緣椿容易混淆，兩者都吸食無患子科的植物，但大紅姬緣椿主要吸食台灣欒樹、龍眼、椰子等多種高大的樹木，2-3月為高峰期，5月後會漸漸消失，小紅姬緣椿僅吸食草本倒地鈴的果莢、種子或莖葉，取食時會以刺吸式口器將唾液注入食物中吸取養份。(介紹資料來自驚奇山行網站)

Ich hatte diese ca.700 Jahre alte Eiche auf zwei vorangegangenen Fototouren fotografiert und war jedes Mal von den Ergebnissen enttaeuscht. An diesem Tag naeherte ich mich von einer anderen Seite und war vom Baum noch staerker beeindruckt als sonst. Waehrend ich meine Fotos belichtete, stand ploetzlich dieser Damhirschspiesser neben der Eiche. Ich war begeistert, denn jetzt konnte ich die tatsaechlichen Ausmaße der Eiche im Vergleich zum Damhirsch gut darstellen.
