They came for the first of six auctions of Picasso memorabilia, books, and photographs owned by Dora Maar, or Madame Henriette Markovitch, a former photographer whose love affair with the great Spanish modernist spanned the tumultuous years between the Spanish Civil War and the end of the Second World War.
