I painted this little oil painting on site (en plein air) at the Gorge in Launceston late last year. People were having picnics, swimming and enjoying the chairlift and nearby walks. The painting surface is a piece of primed balsa wood, approximately 8.2x5.4cm. The painting is taped to the inside of an Altoids style tin. The palette paper is also attached to the base of the tin and you can see all my colours and mixing combinations. Designed to be displayed as is, this original painting and its own pochade box (outdoors painting case) is a unique work of art.
