Oversized Original Paintings by award-winning artist/decorator, Pamela Qarbaghi. “The psychology of color is of particular interest to me, and my paintings incorporate life-giving hues which bring harmony and warmth to a room. Decorating with fine art does not need to be a difficult or confusing exercise. Selecting a painting is actually a remarkably straight-forward process. One thing to keep in mind is that your entire room is the composition. Choose a piece of art that fits the composition of the room, rather than a representational piece of art that tends to take you out of the room you are in and into the world of the painting. That is the difference in the older, representational or realistic art work and that of today. Sometimes the simpler compositions are the most effective pieces you can use in a room. Choose a painting based on your instinctive response to the piece. Don’t over-think your choice. Chances are that you will be happier with your selection if you let your instincts take over in the selection process. Then, hang your painting, and simply narrow down one to two favorite colors in the painting which you want to bring out and emphasize. Weave those colors back and forth across your room in your accessories (pillows, vases, other art pieces, books, throws, etc.) The result is a smartly coordinated tableau that will create a warm, inviting setting for family and guests for years to come. Painting is 36" X 36" on extra-deep canvas (2-1/2" deep) Sides are painted so no framing is necessary or recommended. Simply hang the painting as it is.
