In celebration of the World Cup, and as tradition decrees, I suggest by way of a sofa-side snack my Soccermole. This, you won't be surprised to learn, is a version of Guacamole, by way of my proudest creation, Roquamole (avocado and blue cheese). Soccermole needs a mere trio of ingredients — avocado, spring onions and, for kick, horseradish sauce — which may sound suspect, but together create something both soothing (the cool, bland balm of the avocado) and uplifting (the feisty fire of the horseradish) which I rather feel will be in order. I like a nervous handful of tortilla chips for dippage, but grissini, sugar snaps and assorted crudités work well too. For US cup measures, use the toggle at the top of the ingredients list.
