For all of the challenges that 2020 brought to our doorsteps, we at Facing History can celebrate a great many successes. One of them has been our ability to pivot rapidly—to use our knowledge of what we know works and what teachers need to continue delivering value amid the shift to remote instruction. We reached more students and teachers in this virtual format than ever before, reinforcing the portability of our work and its broad resonance with a pool of educators that is growing rapidly. Just think of the ripple effect of all of these teachers and students engaging with our Teaching Ideas on current events and finding their thinking transformed. In the midst of the immense social upheaval and suffering that swept our communities in 2020, we served as a lifeline to educators and students looking for tools that promote comfort, connection, and deep contemplation around the issues that matter.
