"Antonio, the waiter from the bar in the Plaza de San Cayetano, next to the La Guindalera market" is a work dedicated to another beloved and endearing character from "La Guindalera" (Salamanca District of Madrid). A quite sociable and friendly character who worked as a waiter in said bar. In addition to being funny, it had two peculiarities, one, telling jokes and explaining them in case people didn't catch them (according to him) and the second is that without taking notes, he never made a mistake in the drinks we ordered, and that was put to the test. if we were a large group (15 or 20 people). In addition to not failing in the order, he practically knew who each drink was intended for. In the painting you can see phrases related to those moments and elements of the bar (drinks, prices...) What a tribute to Antonio who made us spend fun summer afternoons and nights on that terrace. The work can be included within the Neo Pop movement of the 80s, with neo-expressionist and cubist inspiration.
