I believe this little stream is one that contributes to Parker's Creek, which runs through the Chestnut Land Trust and is the largest, undeveloped watershed on the western shore of the Chesapeake. I woke up and noticed the fog. I've been waiting for some of the foggy autumn mornings to show up (haven't had many this year), so I grabbed the camera and trotted into the woods to see what I could find. I'd spotted this location before on a hike with the kids. I wished the fog was thicker than it was, I wanted more of an effect where the trees would disappear into the distance, but this was close. Here is the same photo but with a high-contrast red filter applied and converted to B&W. It transforms the entire shot into a winter like scene.
