Our Daily Challenge "Eccentricity" 131/365 Eccentricity is the measurement of an object's orbit of rotation. If the object is not truly centered, then the surface does not follow a uniform path during rotation....i.e. it wobbles. This is a bobbin winder "hack" that I designed after a $200+ model out of weaver's supply catalogue. Hubby and I worked together finding parts and he assembled it out of scrap lumber, a recipe box, a spare small appliance motor, and a rheostat. To dress it up, I did the folk art painting and gave it a wax finish. It ended up costing around $10 for parts that we didn't already have. I use this to wind thread onto the bobbin that is used inside the weaving shuttle. To do this by hand would take forever so this gadget is a big help. The photo shows it in motion without the end of the bobbin properly plugged in to the part on the left, which is in its position to fit a longer sized bobbin whereas it would be held in a horizontal plane and wouldn't wobble at all.
