Hello everyone, I'm back with a card for the new Happy Little Stamper's Christmas Challenge which starts today. Our optional twist this time is 'mask' and as usual, our generous Leader, Kylie, is offering a prize I came up with this card which was lots of fun to make! 1) Die cut some white card with a pierced square die. 2) Take a piece of masking paper and die cut a circle from the centre. Put the circle somewhere safe for another project. Attach the mask to the square card making sure the circle is in the centre. Die cut a smaller circle mask for the moon and cut a snowbank mask as well. 3) With the moon and snowbank mask in place, begin inking with blue ink and a Clarity Stencil brush. This gives a light cover of colour which you can build up slowly. Once you are happy with the light colour, take a darker blue ink and sponge in from the outside of the circle to darken the edges. Remove the moon mask and ink it lightly. 4) Remove the snow mask and ink with the brush, replacing the mask at different angles to create a snowbank. 3) Stamp the tree from the Penny Black Wonder Collection Transparent set. I used my Misti for this, stamping once in a lighter green ink, then I inked parts of the stamp with a dark green ink and stamped again to give it a bit more interest. 4) Remove the circle mask and stamp the sentiment from Papertrey Ink Think Big Favorites #21 in dark blue ink so it is partly over the circle. 5) Mat the square onto some dark blue card and raise it on the base card with fun foam. 6) To finish it off add dots of glue pen all over the tree and add a microfine glitter. It's hard to see this step in the photographs but the small one at the top gives you an idea and it does look lovely IRL! My little pile of Christmas cards is growing quite nicely thanks to these challenges. How about yours? If you fancy adding to it, or even making your first Christmas card of the year, why not pop over to the HLS blog to see some great inspiration from the team and you can link your card up there to play along with us. Don't forget that our twist is optional and any kind of Christmas card can be entered! I'd like to take my card to play at Christmas Card Challenges #11 - anything goes + colour Winter Wonderland Challenge - add some sparkle or bling Merry Monday Challenge - the night before Christmas Thanks for stopping by. Hugs Carol x
