I am a Welsh artist and my passion is painting happy, whimsical, quirky pictures, usually of animals. ABOUT THE PAINTING Here are high quality giclee prints, taken from my original oil painting of my flamingo painting, "Pretty in pink." I love how nature dresses exotic birds in such an array of colour. I have great pleasure in painting them. This painting was painted, kind courtesy of photographer Ken Taylor, who provided the beautiful photograph. PAPER PRINTS My flamingo paper giclee prints come just as they are, unframed. They are printed onto our premium quality fine art paper. They come in a choice of two sizes, 5 x 7 inches and 8 x 10 inches. We have specifically chosen these measurements as there is such a wide choice of beautiful frames to chose from in these sizes. After we have printed our giclee paper prints, we leave them to dry for 8 hours and then we protect them with a matte varnish. Giclee (pronounced je-clay) is a type of very high quality printing ink. Giclee comes from the French word "gicler" to squirt. The lightfast inks, which are acid free and lightfast, are sprayed onto the paper. It is believed that this process achieves the closest match technically possible to the original piece of artwork. Giclee prints use inkjet technology and are far more sophisticated than your normal desktop printer. Giclee prints are known for their longevity and are the choice of art galleries, museums and collectors.
