It's one thing to have an emotional regulation resource, and it's another to have a way of compassionately modeling how it is to be used. This book accompanies the My Feelings Remote product which teaches, measures, and encourage semotional regulation. Drawing on my experience as a school-based speech-language pathologist as well as in my private practice, I've organized various strategies in one convenient and visually appealing resource: -naming (and thus taming) your feelings -taking a break/time to feel your feelings -sensory strategies -mindful mantras or affirmations -steps for talking through a situation/building situational awareness -offering choices for next steps I recommend this 34 page book be printed and bound for repeated use. I also sell a wordless version of this book, visual cue cards elaborating on some of the steps, and a corresponding chart that can be used to reward kids as they progress in using "My Feelings Remote" to process their emotions. NOTE: this is called "MY Feelings Remote" because it is meant for the student to make intentional choices about their OWN behavior rather than an adult using it to try to control their behavior. Please use this resource in a neurodiversity-affirming way.
