"Now" is a one-of-a-kind sculpture in Krawczyk's Smoke series in mirror-polished stainless steel. This work is fabricated from sheet stainless steel, and is not cast! The artist cuts and welds flat metal sheets that he manipulates with extreme heat to achieve an organic and gravity-defying appearance. Once Krawczyk is satisfied with the gently undulating form, he begins the lengthy process of going through many grits to obtain his striking mirror polish (there is no shortcut there!) The completed work is living and changing with its environment, reflecting and altering the reflections constantly. "Now" is a particularly enticing life-size biomorphic sculpture that looks equally at home indoors or outdoors in a garden or plaza, to reflect the sky and all of its environment. Each side offers a different visual balance. On a black metal base that measures 3.5"H x 13.5"W x 12.5"D. In addition to his successful career creating residential size sculptures in bronze and stainless steel, Jon Krawczyk has completed impressive monumental sculptures for corporate and public sites, including for Apple/LinkedIn Campus in Sunnyvale, CA, the SF 49ers Stadium in Santa Clara, CA, Four Seasons Hotel in DC, MO, CA and India and the 9/11 Memorial at St Peters Church at Ground Zero in New York City.
