During the war, Weiss Manfréd Steel Works, one of the largest conglomerates industrial customers in Hungary and the company that all the ammunition(plus scooters, and in 1920, some two-stroke touring car), developed a small car with the intent to create a Hungarian Volkswagen. It was called Penta, after its designer, Janos Pentelényi. The main features of the Penta were light, simple design , reliability and low production costs. First Penta was powered two-stroke, two cylinder, engine.
