How i did it: First i made a custom bokeh on my nifty fifty lense as described here Then I took out the christmas lights and started making some stationary stationary shots to try out. after that i started to move to get the flying star effect. The moving isn't that easy, the exposure was around 0.5s / 0.6s. The first part of the shot (first 0.3s) was to keep the camera absolutely still. so that the star form is nice and bright, and not blurred. The second part of the shot (0.2s) was to move the camera quickly away, to get the sliding effect. The difficulty in getting it right is the timing and holding the camera still int the beginning. if you don't keep the camera still, the stars will be blurry, if you dont keep the camera still long enough, the stars will not be brighter than their tale, and the shot fails, if you wait to long before moving, the star is overexposed, and the shot fails again. It cost me a few 100 shots to get a few good ones :) I hope you like it!
