Rare and richly adorned wooden Kyûshû ishô'dansu (cabinet of drawers) in a single section, on a plinth. Fully restored, cleaned and waxed. The drawer faces are made of indigenous kiri (paulownia) wood varnished in a sought after warm brown hue, a colour that we like to call ‘golden oak’. Complemented by a vibrant crimson lacquered wooden exterior, even the back. Richly clad with decorative hardware with reticulated floral designs. Configured with six drawers of different shape and a hinged door. Opening to three more small drawers with red lacquer finish. The large decorative lock plated with raised flower shaped knobs. Flanked by sturdy iron ‘mokkô’-shaped bail handles with large en-suite escutcheons. The doors and drawers operate smoothly, offering deep and voluminous storage space. Each
