I've had this handsome antique solid oak oxbow front dresser stored in my workshop for a couple months. When it came to me it was 'barn fresh' which is a nice antiques dealer euphemism for an icky hot mess. The drawers on it were DOA and the top had a pretty impressive shrinkage crack that love or money wouldn't fix. And that was all just fine and dandy with me, the perfect candidate to be turned into an island. So I burned the drawers in the fire pit, and added three pine shelves and a pine top. I painted the case in a warm shade of wheat, distressed, and dark waxed. It's paneled on the sides and back so it's lovely from every angle, and would work just as well as a kitchen island as a media console for a tv, or as a server or sideboard! I'm kicking myself that I accidentally deleted the 'before' picture on my phone!
