Artist Dasha Plesen combines molds, bacteria, spores, and other objects in petri dishes to create these colorful abstract
As the golden sun dips towards the horizon, it casts an ethereal glow over Achmelvich Bay, captured exquisitely in this Abstract Impressionist portrayal. The canvas comes alive with a tapestry of vibrant yellows, fiery oranges, and tranquil blues, reflecting the serene yet dynamic beauty of the Scottish coastline at the most magical time of day. This art piece invites viewers to immerse themselves in the sweeping curves of the bay's shore, artfully rendered through the interplay of colour and light. The rocks that adorn the cove bask in the sunlight, their edges softened by the abstract style, hinting at the gentle lapping of waves upon the shore. The expressive brushstrokes embody the essence of the cove's natural splendour, inviting imagination to wander through the subtle gradations of colour that evoke the reflections of sky on water. Shimmers of turquoise and hints of green peek through the water's surface, suggesting the depths beneath and the life that thrives within. This print, from our 'Scottish Coves' collection, is more than a mere representation of a place; it is an emotive piece that celebrates the collision of land, sea, and light in a dance of spectral magnificence. It is a tribute to the rugged, untouched glory of Scotland's coastal treasures, wrapped in the cloak of abstract artistry. Envision this piece as a centrepiece in your living space or a captivating addition to your private collection, where it can transport you each day to the tranquillity and splendour of Achmelvich Bay at the golden hour.
This original painting is from around 2004 when I was heavily under the influence of surrealism. The sunset landscape is punctuated with groups of figures and a landform making an image of a face. There are a lot of unusual details painted into this scene This is one of the first paintings I made that experiments with a wildly colorful flow of abstraction within a representational image. Approximately 2 feet wide by 3 feet tall by 1 inch deep. Painted with acrylics on a gessoed canvas stretched over a wooden frame. Ready to hang.

Los Angeles-based artist and actor Joseph Lee paints thickly layered portraits that mask the details and expressions of his subjects’ faces. His abstracted profiles sometimes reveal a subtle hint of an eye, nose, or ear between multi-colored brushstrokes, and are set against matte backgrounds to make each painting pop. Although the facial expressions are often hidden, the self-taught artist intends to bring emotions to each face through the turn of the head or the line of a jaw. More
