Double Glazed Kugelhopf is on the menu in Chef Anna Olson’s amazing kitchen, and she…
This is the best Kugelhopf I have eaten after having made several ones from scratch. Actually, Dorie Greenspan's Kugelhopf recipe is the best according to my humble opinion. But the softer and moister texture of this semihomemade Kugelhopf coupled with the significant reduction in the amount of time it takes to prepare, and the longer lasting soft texture, makes this kugelhopf even better. It is like eating a rich brioche, and, unless you talk, no one will know you cheated a bit. O). Usually, Kugelhopfs are said to be best eaten on the same day because they get a bit dry. Of course, a few seconds in the microwave can restore the "first day freshness," or you can even toast it. But you might not even need to do so on the second day of eating this kugelhopf. Serve it for a brunch or afternoon tea/coffee. This recipe is adapted from a recipe in ifood.tv
You'll love the dreamy texture, and wonderful flavor, of this Chocolate Kugelhopf.
The original bundt cake, but made with yeast and less sweet, and perfect for serving with coffee.
Kugelhopf is a delicious, Alsatian, yeasted bread, similar to brioche but not as rich. It is baked in a special fluted pan. Here's an easy recipe to make kugelhopf at home using a standard bundt pan as a substitute to the special kugelhopf pan.
My favorite cake tin is, doubtless, the celebrated so-called “bundt,” or “Gugelhupf” in Vienna (pronounced “google hoopf”). The Gugelhupf bundt cake is, among other places, very popular in Central Europe, France, the US, Israel, and the whole of the Jewish Diaspora. The Gugelhupf bundt cake has its own, particularly distinct tin shape. The intricate shape of the pan makes the resulting Gugelhupf bundt cakes immediately beautiful and interesting to look at. Also, the making of the Gugelhupf bundt cake is effortless because it requires no frills or frostings but is still elegante.

Ideally, you want to use a high-sided Kugelhof mold or bundt pan that has a 6 to 8 cup (1,5-2l) capacity. I made it in a larger-sized bundt pan (10-inch/25cm) and it works fine, but the cake will be lower than a traditional Kugelhopf and will take less time to bake. I don't use instant yeast (nor did I use fresh cake yeast for this cake), but if you want to use one of those, check the manufacturer's website for instructions on substituting them for the active dry yeast.

I love this kind of Kugelhopf cake recipes. They aren't too sweet but the smell is oh so yummy and taste really good. I would serve it with Champagne.
An extremely popular German classic made with stirred yeast dough. Grandma's easy Gugelhupf with almonds and raisins turns out wonderfully fluffy and moist!
