This is a giclee print of an original watercolor painting that was painted both on-site and in the studio. The subject is an old juniper tree located in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Colorado. The park called it "Everyone's Favorite Tree." While on location, the artist painted to a continuous stream of comments by visitors saying what a beautiful, incredible tree this juniper is. Silhouetted against the sky, the movement of the tree really conjures the magic feeling of a genie coming out of a bottle. The twisting of the trunk leading into the canopy of leaves supplies a contrast of old gnarling wood with new fresh evergreen needles. Each print is numbered, titled, and signed by the artist.

MATS AND FRAMING: This item does not come framed; however prints are intended to fit into standard size frames. If you plan to order a frame with a mat online, I recommend that you find a mat that is "ivory" or "off white" in color to better match the cream-colored print paper. For example, https://www.amazon.com/Frametory-11x14-Black-Picture-Frame/dp/B07FV4KFDK?ref_=ast_sto_dp and https://www.amazon.com/Frametory-11x14-White-Picture-Frame/dp/B073HH3S3D. For best results with mating and framing, I recommend that you take the print to your local art store (Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc) and ask them to cut a custom mat for you that complements the print paper color. We have always stood by the words that Mother Nature is an artist to beat all artists but here contributions to art do not end there. She not only does good work, but she also inspires others to take a page from her book and create lovely art. That is why it should not surprise you too much to know that there is an art form (one of the many that do) that draws its inspiration from her work and that it is called tree art. While this is completely different from other tree based art forms like Christmas tree decorating ideas, it could be inspired from these art forms. By definition, tree art would have the tree as its central theme. It can be part of the art or trees could be done in many ways to represent other things in tree art. It could show as if the tree has a face and there are expressions being painted on them to express what the artist feels.

I'm absolutely loving studying the Bible and worshiping and praying this way, through the medium of Art Journaling, and connecting with others through the Identity Study facilitated by Bernice Hopper . In this spread, it is easily integrating into the other pages, an added happy surprise, so that w
This week 4th grade will start their fall birch tree painting! We create these by using.... Materials: 12x18 90lb paper Crayola black tempera paint little pieces of cardboard and tempera cakes for the leaves and grass Day 1: We will look at photos of birch trees online, and talk about the texture of the bark and really examine what these birch trees really look like. I'll demonstrate how to drag the cardboard and black paint across the paper to create this unique bark texture. The students will get a piece of practice paper first, will practice creating these trees until they get the hang of it, and then they'll get their final piece of paper to create their painting on. Here's a picture of how to get started. If you're right handed, swipe your cardboard to the right. Vice versa if you're left handed. I create one side, and then flip my paper around to create the other side of the tree. This makes things so much easier! Here's what the students should finish on Day 1 Day 2: We'll add branches with Sharpies, and paint leaves and grass with our tempera cakes! Here's what they have finished so far! These guys and girls are off to a great start!! You can also change the background up to accommodate for any season. Here's a different arrangement, with snow and sunset colors in the background! “Lauren Stacey is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.”
