Hello everyone, I hope you had a good weekend and are ready for a new week. Our weekend was a bit hectic but we spent a lovely evening with friends at the Lowry Theatre on Saturday seeing Tom Paxton sing. Tom is 77 years old now and I have enjoyed his concerts many times over the years. He held the audience in the palm of his hands while he took us on a journey through his songs that made me laugh and cry. He told us that this was the last concert of his last tour, and it makes me sad to think that I won't see him sing live again, but I think that at 77 years old he deserves to put his feet up, and I thank him for all the pleasure he has given me throughout his career! Over the past few years we have been attending lots of weddings and so it shouldn't surprise me that a lot of people I know are expecting babies this year! I thought I better start preparing for the cards and gifts I am going to need and the current challenge over at Showcase Your Style caught my eye with their inspiration photo of film gubbins I decided to cut a filmstrip on my Silhouette Cameo and play along with this card I used the stork from the Avery Elle Plus One stamps set and coloured it with Copics and a gel pen before fussy cutting it to fly onto the card. The filmstrip was placed at the bottom and I added alphabet stamps that I stamped with various colourful inks, and I scattered stars cut with the SSS confetti die in the same colours. The welcome came from the Paper Smooches die which coordinates with their wonderful Welcome Wagon stamp set. When I first saw this lovely stamp set I was reminded of my Mum's favorite song which was 'Welcome to My World by Jim Reeves and as the current challenge over at Open Minded Crafting is 'inspired by a song', I'd like to play along there this time. Finally, the challenge over at The Pink Challenge this week is 'things with wings' and I hope I have enough pink here to qualify! Thanks for stopping by Hugs Carol x

I was playing along with a couple of challenges and I ended up with two baby cards. The themes and my baby supplies just worked so well together! This card is for two challenges, first to use a wild animal for and second to use a die to make a stencil for Make It Monday. Of course, this isn’t such a wild looking wild animal is it?? LOL! The hearts in the background were die cut from masking paper and the negative was used as a stencil for sponging the aqua mist and harvest gold inks. I hand cut the same piece of masking paper to sponge in some spring moss for the ground. For this card, I was inspired by the latest Fusion challenge which combines a sketch and a lovely nautical bedroom image. And Inspired by… which has an inspiration photo which you can see below. I followed the sketch pretty closely for once using some cardstock and October Afternoon Seaside papers to piece this little sailboat. I should have removed the fish die from the rest using snips before I die cut the sail but I didn’t so I pieced in the fishy too then dubbed this boat the ‘Fishy Cracker’! I had a PTI baby set out from the previous card’s sentiment then saw this one which was so perfect for this card! Funny when things like that happen! Hello! I'm running behind today, typing this post in my lunch break at work lol! I made 3 very simple baby cards using the MFT Stamps Bundle of Baby Clothes Die-namics, the MFT StampsWelcome Baby sentiment set, the MFT Stamps Country Fair Plaid paper pack, some white cardstock and a few enamel dots. I also usedMFT Stamps Blueprints 15 and 20 for the rectangle dies and a stitched circle die. You could substitute any large rectangle dies. Making them was very simple. I made a US A2 topfolding vertical cardbase in white cardstock, and then cut 3 rectangles (with Blueprints 20) and 3 items of baby clothes from the white cardstock. I then cut 3 large rectangles (using Blueprints 15), a circle and the little embellishments for the clothes from my patterned paper. I adhered the large rectangle to my card base with my tape runner. I glued the circle to the white rectangle and then stamped a sentiment in black ink below it. I adhered some craft foam to the back of my smaller rectangle and adhered that to the patterned paper. I mounted the baby clothes to the circles using some foam tape for dimension, and then glued on the embellishments with a little Ranger Multi Medium Matte. Finally I added a few enamel dots in matching colours. These really were super simple and quick to make. Thanks so much for dropping by!
Happy Monday! Today I get to share a very special card! The lovely Jennifer McGuire welcomed her baby girl into the world yesterday. How wonderful to have a baby on Mother's Day :) Us girls over at A Blog Named Hero wanted to make some cards to let her and baby know we were thinking of them! Congratulations, McGuire Family! Sending love and hugs to you and your newest addition! Supplies InLinkz.com
A sweet friend of mine recently became a first-time grandmother, and I was feeling like a little girl was on the way, but oops! It was a boy! LOL I made this card in anticipation of that new bundle of joy and had to scramble to make a boy card instead! LOL So much for my intuition huh? I used white and Blushing Bride pink, embossing the background with a SU! Happy Hearts ef, then adding a double panel of the PTI Notched Hearts Banner dies, adding a snippet of ribbon and lots of pink stickles inside the die-cut heart negatives. The baby feet were done with a Quickutz die and placed on a MFT stitched circle die cut, then matted with a SB scalloped circle die cut. Of course I added nail polish to the toes, because it's a girl, right? (or so I thought!) The sentiment panel was done with a MFT stitched circle die and another SB scalloped circle die, and I added the MFP sentiment stamped in soft grey ink. I'm sure there will be a little baby girl coming into the world one day soon when I can use this card - hopefully :) I'm sharing this with the Snippets Playground weeks #271 and 272. Thanks for dropping by and I wish you a wonderful day. Carol
