I wound up with a lot of scrap strips from a project using a bunch of 12x12 papers, and I couldn't bear to throw them out. So I came up with a quick layout that reduced my pile of leftovers in a hurry! I knew you'd enjoy this tip, too, and couldn't wait to share. For this layout you will need: Three matching or coordinating patterned paper strips cut to 5.25 x 1.25 inches (I used Friendly Hello papers) One neutral color card base cut to 4.25 x 11 inches (vertical, top hinge card) One neutral color cardstock for sentiment,...
This is the feel good DIY handmade card from my Facebook live. I always go live on Thursday nights at 7pm EST. If you are looking for the perfect card for someone that needs a little happy mail, then this is it! A lovely pairing for a beautiful card can be found in the Blessings of Home Bundle, which I am loving!
Hi everyone! Happy Friday! It's time for a new As You See It challenge...this week's is a "Fill in the Blank"! What is a favorite technique you use in your stamping? I love all aspects of creating hand-stamped cards, but I do love to watercolor! I used to joke that the reason I started stamping is because I couldn't draw, but I could certainly color in someone else's artwork! So I was particularly drawn to line-art stamps because I could make them whatever color I wanted! The Friendly Hello SAB set has some pretty little line-art flowers, so I stamped them in Stazon ink on watercolor paper and went to work: I am calling this a "mini" slimline card; it measures 6" x 2.75" and worked perfectly for the Atlantic Hearts sketch for this week: You need to use Stazon ink when watercoloring, as it is an alcohol-based ink and the water and reinkers I use to color the flower in won't cause the black ink to bleed. I used two patterns from the Friendly Hello DSP, cut some squares and black scalloped mats, then added the watercolored and fussy-cut flowers and leaves: I added a sentiment from the Flowering Rainboots set, and some rhinestones I colored with a black Sharpie marker: I didn't add a sentiment to the inside; I'll leave it blank and stamp it when the occasion arises that I need a card like this! So, what's a favorite technique of yours? I hope you'll check out what the DT shared on the As You See It blog; maybe their technique is yours too! Share yours with us--can't wait to see what you create! Thanks for visiting today! Project Details—All Products SU! Technique Focus Have you added our Soft Pastels to your coloring repertoire? These chalk pastels work with Sponge Daubers, Blending Brushes, and Water Painters to create a lovely, watercolor effect. Our Concept Artist used them to color Basic White Cardstock embossed with the Painted Posies 3D Embossing Folder to create this beautiful floral card. First, she picked up color from the pastels with a Water Painter to color the raised images. Then she used chalk dust from the Night of Navy Soft Pastel, mixed it with water, and splattered the embossed cardstock for a distressed look. So pretty! What can you make with these exciting coloring tools? Post your projects on social media and use the #SsoftPastels hashtag so we can see your work! Soft Pastels are available in Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Flirty Flamingo, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, and Poppy Parade.
