We could all use some of that in our lives. A place, where we can just breathe and relax. A place, that allows one's mind, to just become stilled, even for a moment. In today's time, life is on a...

The diaries and musings of Asta Rudzinskaitė are a wonder to behold, I love the way the text and image interplay and are integral to each other on the pages of Asta's journals. "Writing has been such an important ritual in my life ever since my first diary which I started at the age of 12. It only seems that it is becoming a more and more important way for me to be present with my worries and fears, capture dreams, channel inspiration and stay connected with my inner world." Find out how to avoid the 7 most common mistakes in your art journal page so you'll always create amazing pages
One of the best things about creativity is that you can totally turn your brain off during the process! One of my favorite ways to zen out and get creative is altering magazine pages. I hunt for unique portraits and glue them to the pages of my art journal. Then I paint out large areas of the image and use my favorites pens to fill all that space with pattern. The result are super dynamic and wild portraits!

+2 in comments. Part of my "Scanography" series. An ongoing series of images made using a scanner. Shot yesterday. I gave my exhibition submissions in today and the people there seemed quite positive when they first saw them. Hopefully the judges will agree! In other news, I've recently been published in an issue of Amateur Photographer Magazine. No idea what issue nor what for nor what image but I was sent an appraisal and a gift card so yay me. I checked the most recent issue and it doesnt seem to be that one. Anyone who's subscribed to AP, can you please check the issue before the latest for me to see if any of my images are in it? Would be VERY much appreciated! Or anyone who's been published in there before, do you know how long it takes for them to send prizes? (so I have a rough idea of which issue I was in or will be in) I reached 450,000 views a few days ago so major thanks to everyone who's gotten me there! Next step, 500,000!!
One of the many things I'm working on at the moment is an Altered Book project, with a group of like-minded paper lovers. This is the first time I've tried altered books. I get to work on someone's book for a month, usually with a set theme. This month I've been working on Jenni's book. She has no theme, so its totally up to me what I do with the pages of her Sherlock Holmes detective story book. I decided on a retro theme using vintage sewing patterns, see the image below. I was inspired by a recent project led by Jenni making baskets from paper patterns. I hope Jenni enjoys my "Sherlock Holmes Fashion Investigation" and my weird sense of humour.... Also pictured are some retro pattern magazines I picked up for 50cents at an Opportunity Shop this morning, I can't wait to start chopping them up for book pages and other fantastic paper projects.
I have been playing at the moment using these beautiful Bezels I have on my website for sale they are from Objects and Elements and I must say I have fallen in love with them. Well I’m off to the good Old USA this Wednesday for two weeks to visit with my chosen Sister Linda, in Idaho; we met over the internet many years ago and share our passion of art together.
