John Singer Sargent (1866 - 1925) was an American artist, considered the "leading portrait painter of his generation" for his evocation of Edwardian era luxury. During his career he created approximately 900 oil paintings and more than 2000 watercolours, as well as countless sketches and charcoal drawings. Quint Buchholz was born in Stolberg near Aachen and grew up in Stuttgart. He studied history of art for four terms, followed by painting and graphic design at the Munich Academy of Art under Prof. Gerd Winner. He has worked as a painter and illustrator since 1979, illustrating over fourty books for German and international publishers. From 1982 onwards his works have also been exhibited in over seventy solo exhibitions in Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Greece and Taiwan.
Giuseppe Signorini (1857-1932) was an Italian painter*, mainly of orientalist subjects. He was born in Rome. He studied at the Accademia di San Luca, and then worked under Aurelio Tiratelli. He often traveled to the Paris Salon exhibitions, and was influenced by the styles and orientalist themes expressed by painters like Mariano Fortuny, Ernest Meissonier and Gérôme*.
