Happy New Year Everyone, I hope you all had a great time over the festivities. I certainly did but like all good things, it’s time to get back to work. Bird Banter…I’m guessing this may have been a stamp you didn’t take much notice of unless you are a fan of birds!! I too was
Welcome to another week of What Will You Stamp? To participate in this week's challenge and to see all the great projects from the Design team using this set be sure to visit the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Blog. This week we were challenged to use the Bird Banter Stamp set. I have created a birthday card with the large parrot. What I love most about this set is that all the images are outlines, which makes it perfect for colouring! I cut up the sentiment and arranged the words around the parrot as it was too big to place at his feet as a solid piece. The background DSP is from the Tutti-Frutti suite, the 'reverse' sides are great for Layering backgrounds. If you like the colour combination, please share it on your favourite Pinterest board! Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed seeing my project please take a few moments to leave me a comment I'd love to hear what you think. Last week I said I was going to try and post a Mix It Up card — using old or retired products with new or current products, and I actually did it! I have made it to week #2! Woo-hoo! For this we…
The whole time I was coloring this parrot all I could think of was Sharpie the Gilette parrot asking, "How're ya fixed for blades?" Yes I am that old! He was a sassy cartoon bird who advertised razor blades during the Friday night fights long ago. I wasn't allowed to stay up and watch those fights but I could watch the opening commercial with Sharpie and then head up to bed. Strange the things you remember.......I can't remember where I set my glasses down twenty minutes ago but I can remember those commercials from 60 years ago.....scary...... Welcome back to our Stamp Off fun, sponsored by Buffy, Susan and myself. Today we have a fun color challenge. It will be interesting to see if we go with non-traditional Christmas colors, or steer away from Christmas for this challenge. For my part, I could envision only one set to go with these colors, and it is a sneak peak. This card was made with Bird Banter (p 42), from the upcoming Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog, due out in January. The little birds absolutely lend themselves to bright color combinations, that can be used for masculine (or feminine) events. In this example, I covered the parrot with Wink of Stella, to give it some sparkle. I used a couple other items that will be released with this catalog, including the Myths and Magic Glimmer Paper (p 37) and Petal Passion DSP on page 23. I am very fond of black and white patterned paper because it can be used for almost any card, or colored to help it coordinate with other product. So now that you have been kind enough to check out my challenge project, please click on over to see what Susan and Buffy have done with their color challenge.
Over the past two weeks, I've enjoyed enjoyed sharing the projects I presented during my Stamp Showcase presentation on the Main Stage during Stampin' Up!'s OnStage event. For my presentation, I created and shared five new projects with the Bird Banter stamp set that will be available in Stampin' Up!'s

Sneak Peek Occasions Catalogue 2018, Bird Banter, Toucan, Naturally Eclectic DSP, Stampin' Blends, Alcohol markers, Bird Card
It's always a little bit sad when good things come to an end. Over the past couple of weeks, I've thoroughly enjoyed sharing the projects I presented during my Stamp Showcase presentation on the Main Stage during Stampin' Up!'s OnStage event. For my presentation, I created and shared five new
We have a Winter Advisory out today. The rain, sleet, freezing rain, snow mix and snow has now moved out of the Mid-Michigan area and left us with some hazardous conditions. We've gone from 53 degrees out yesterday to 19 degrees now and into the teens for tonight. Yikes!!! The ice underneath the snow is such a hazard. I wish everyone in my area safe travels if you must. My share for today is another Alternate Card that I made using Stampin' Up's December 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Flora and Flutter and SU's new Occasions Catalog Bird Banter Stamp Set. Let's take a re-look at my first Card and then a look at my second Card: It's been a while since I posted this First Card on my blog so I thought I'd give you a re-look since I'm back to using Stampin' Up's new Bird Banter Stamp Set. The Holidays have kind of thrown me off my normal routine. And, here's my Second Card. I LOVE these adorable little Birds. My Card Base is Basic Black Cardstock cut at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored and folded at 4-1/4" for a side opening Card. As some of you may know, the Square Lemon Lime Twist Leaf Stem Die Cuts were cut backwards and Stampin' Up placed the corrected version in our kits along with the version that was cut backwards. So we got extras! I used the backwards version on my Alternate Birthday and Thank You Card. I trimmed down the Lemon Lime Twist Leaf Stem Square to measure 3-3/4" x 3-3/4". I trimmed out a piece of Pool Party Cardstock to measure 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" and adhered it to the back of the trimmed down backwards version of the Lemon Lime Twist Leaf Stem Die Cut Square with Mono Multi Purpose Glue. I adhered this panel to my Card Base with Stampin' Dimensionals. Using the Flora and Flutter Stamp Set, I stamped the Butterfly on the White Butterfly die cuts from the kit in Daffodil Delight Ink and adhered it to my Panel as shown in the picture above with a thin strip of Stampin' Dimensional down the back Center of the Butterfly Body only leaving the Wings free of adhesive. Using SU's new Occasions Catalog Bird Banter Stamp Set, I stamped the Bird, one Long Leaf Stem and 5 Short Leaf Stems onto Shimmery White Cardstock with Basic Black Archival Ink. I colored the Bird with my Stampin' Blends Markers in Light Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive as shown in the picture above. Using my Aqua Painter, I water colored the rest of the Bird with Basic Black Archival Ink. I colored the Leaves on the Leaf Stems in Light and Dark Old Olive Cardstock. I stamped the Tiny Flower 3 times in Calypso Coral Ink onto a Calypso Coral Card Base from SU's new Sale-A-Bration Tutti-Frutti Cards and Envelopes and fussy cut them out. I used SU's Fine Tip Glue Bottle Adhesive and filled in the petals of each flower and let them dry. After they were dry, I fussy cut them out. I also filled in the eye of the Bird with the Fine Tip Glue Bottle Adhesive. I fussy cut out the Bird and the Leaf Stems. I adhered the Long Leaf Stem with Mono Multi Purpose Glue behind the Stem and a Stampin' Dimensional behind the Leaves. I adhered the Bird with Stampin' Dimensionals and a little Mono Multi Purpose Glue behind its feet. I adhered 3 of the Short Leaf Stems with Mono Multi Purpose Glue behind the Stem only as shown in the picture above. I adhered the 3 Tiny Flowers with Mono Multi Purpose Glue. Using SU's Starburst Punch, I punched a Starburst from Pool Party Cardstock and trimmed it down to approximatley 3/4" x 2-1/8". I stamped my Sentiment onto Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock and trimmed it out to measure 5/8" x 1-5/8". I adhered the Sentiment Panel to the Starburst Panel with Stampin' Dimensionals. I adhered the last 2 Short Leaf Stems with Mono Multi Purpose Glue on the Stems only as shown in the picture above. For the inside of my Card: I adhered a panel of Whisper White Cardstock that measured 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" to the inside of my Card Base with Mono Multi Purpose Glue. I stamped Thank You onto a scrap piece of Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock and punched it out using SU's new Tailored Tag Punch. I also punched out to partial Tags from Pool Party Cardstock ( about 3/4 of each Tag ) twice and adhered them to the back of the Lemon Lime Twist Tag and to the inside of my Card with Mono Multi Purpose Glue. The last thing to do was to add some of SU's Tiny Basic Jewel Pearls (Retired) to the Center of each Flower and 3 medium Pearls to the Butterfly. I'm in total LOVE with all the darling Birds in SU's new Bird Banter Stamp Set. They are so, so and so cute!!! Thanks for stopping by my blog!!! Stay warm wherever you are!!! Welcome back...it's that time of the month again! Amy has another blog hop theme for us..."birthday". Without further ado, here's my card. My card is a "double Z fold" and you'll see what that means in a minute, if you aren't familiar with it. In an effort to not confuse anyone, including me, I will put the measurements and products used at the end of my post. I will tell you that my card base is Berry Burst, the mats are from the Fresh Floral DSP and my fave Lemon Lime Twist, topped with the the art pieces in Whisper White. The stamp set I used is Bird Banter. This is a fantastic set if you enjoy birds of any kind...especially parakeets (budgies), cockatoos and toucans. I stamped everything using Memento Tuxedo Black ink for ease in coloring. I colored my birds with watercolor pencils, ink pads and a Blender Pen. The branch is done in Crumb Cake. Okay, so the moment you've been waiting for...ta da... the "Double Z Fold". You see it, right? It folds up nicely into an A2 envelope. You can find tutorials galore on You Tube for this type of fold. Want to see it stretched out? Okay, here you go... The portion that reads, "Obviously it wasn't an early bird" has a piece of Basic 2 washi tape on it and hearts from the Owl Builder Punch, which is retired. There are plenty of current hearts dies or enamel shapes you could use but I just wanted the shape of those particular hearts. The last portion has punched balloons and, unfortunately, that punch is retired. Can you see why it's so difficult for me to clean out my retired products? I know I should, but I just can't...won't...it's close to I "need" new or "want" new! If you are a stamper, you understand...don't pretend you don't...lol. Now, if you're familiar with blog hops, you know there's more in store for you...hope you can take time to visit the remaining blog hop participants. For your ease in hopping along, there is a button to see the next in line or the previous stamper. If you prefer, you can click on the listed name and you'll achieve the same results. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to visit. Hope you'll return daily and not just wait a month...I would miss you! Linda Richenberg Karen Finkle - you are here! Squarrk!!! Today's cards feature the very cute birds from Bird Banter. These stamps are adorable & even cuter when coloured with Stampin' Blends. I wanted bright & colourful cards so I paired the images with the bold patterns in the Tutti-Frutti DSP. I love the way his eyes are closed, like gracious looking. I love how the colouring turned out here! I love my Stampin' Blends. I love the message in this one because I also would for a bank and this would be a classic! (Pun on branch!) I think I might have gone a litttttle too dark on the 'shading' under this bird Thanks so much for stopping by. Hi I'm Courtenay a Stampin' Up Demonstrator in Australia and this has been an amazing week for me and my family. My eldest daughter finished High School and had her formal - next day I headed to Melbourne for the November 2017 On Stage Local event - bonus this bag of nerves got to product spotlight the new Bird Banter Stamp set from the Upcoming 2018 Occasions Catalogue! The start of the show was not me but Roy! He is my super cheeky and very noisy Cockatoo. This is Roy Roy was super impressed with the Cockatoo stamp and I fell in love with the balloon! I used the Cockatoo stamp and embossed the Crushed Curry card for a textured background before using the large letters for my page title. I used the Perfect Days Memories & More Pack in my pockets and the Bird Banter stamp set to compliment my photos. Because Roy has so many friends come to visit - not only do I get no passion fruit off my vine but I have some extra mouths that demand to be fed! I used a piece of copy paper to mask the front Cockatoos so I could stamp the back row. they are coloured with the new Stampin' Blends but the markers and watercolour pencils would also work. I have a heap more sample to photograph and share over the coming weeks so pop back frequently to see what's new - Happy Stampin' everyone. Courtenay Do you live in Australia and would you like to become a Demonstrator, earn discounts, great rewards and get to craft with Stampin' Up! products before their release? Here we are again with the birds! Seriously, I hope none of my blog readers have bird phobias or anything because I just can't help but continue to use the fun bird images that are in the Occasions catalog! For today's card I have a clean and simple (CAS) design with some more masculine colors though they could certainly be used for a woman as well. The base is Night of Navy then a layer of Whisper White with the branches stamped in Memento black and colored with Old Olive Stampin' Blends. The Night of Navy banner is stamped in Versamark and then embossed with white embossing powder. I've popped it up with dimensionals and added a little baker's twine bow. The birthday parrot is stamped with Memento ink and then colored with Stampin' Blends. I used Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy and Smoky Slate. Once he was all colored up I fussy cut him and adhered him to the edge of the banner. Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today? Stamps: Bird Banter Ink: Memento black, Versamark Blends: Old Olive, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, Smoky Slate Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White Accessories: corner rounder, dimensionals, white baker's twine, white embossing powder
