While perusing the internet for fun card samples, I happened upon a fun-fold card. I wrote down the measurements, but failed to note the card-makers name. Who does that? 😞 And then I tried making the card, but it wasn't working for the standard envelope that I wanted to use (I believe the original maker was from Australia, where cards are a different size). But I was determined, and so I played with the template until I was able to make it to fit my envelopes. Take a look (measurements are below): Now what I liked about the card was the extra layer in the middle: It's a perfect opportunity to show off some of the beautiful designer papers that Stampin' UP! offers. When fully opened, it is a traditional-sized card - 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". So here is how you make it: Start with a cardstock base that is 5-1/2" x 10-3/4", and score it at 1-1/2", 4" and 6-1/2". Fold the smallest edge (1-1/2") forward (as if you are closing a card), then fold the middle back on itself; add adhesive on the back sides of the middle piece and adhere, creating an extra folded flap in the center of the card. My card uses Evening Evergreen for the card base, and for a layer on the front (cut with Scalloped Contours dies). The patterned paper is from the Texture Chic pack; I cut one strip 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" for the small flap on the front, and two pieces of 2-1/4" x 5-1/4" for the inside flap. The Scalloped Contours layer on the front is Evening Evergreen embossed with the Timeworn Type embossing folder. The greeting, from Very Best Occasions, was stamped on a Stylish Shape circle using Evening Evergreen ink. And the snowflakes, cut with the Chic dies, use Soft Succulent cardstock and Distressed Gold Designer Series Paper. A Merry Monday Fun-Fold - can it get any better? Hello and welcome, Today I'll be sharing with you the latest sketch challenge #342 for Global Design Project make sure you check out their designs using the sketch below. I've created a vintage/shabby chic style birthday card using the Happiness Abounds bundle and combined it with Texture Chic Designer Series Paper and Distressed Gold Specialty Paper. I love to mix and match products from the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue 2022 - 2023. The stamped images from the Happiness Abounds stamp set are heat set using Versmark onto Shimmery White cardstock, Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool. The images are perfect for a watercolour look, I've used Petal Pink and Pool Party for the flowers and leaves. All of the images are die-cut out using the Blossoming Happiness Dies. I've embossed the Shimmery White panel with the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder, then run Paper Snips along the edge of the Cardstock to distress it even more. I added Multi Mono Liquid Glue with a Sponge Dauber, wait for it to dry and then add Gold Gilded Leafing, brush off excess. To create the strips I used Tear and Tape, placed a strip along the embossed panel then applied Gold Gilded Leafing. The other three strips are from the beautiful Texture Chic suite, two are from Texture Chic Specialty Designer Series Paper I love the colours and design in the paper. The other is a gold strip from the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper. To finish off the card I've stamped the sentiment in Pool Party, fussy cut out using Paper Snips and applied three butterflies from the Brushed Brass Butterflies. Thank you for visiting my blog today, I would so love hear your thoughts on my project by leaving a comment below. If you would like a copy of the new Stampin' Up! Mini January to June 2022 Catalogue and Annual Catalogue 2022 - 2023 please contact me here. Hello cardmaking friends! Anya's here today with some card inspiration for a very popular Simple Vintage Lemon Twist collection! I am absolutely loving this gorgeous line and still have big plans for it, but today I would like to share a set of cards I created using the stunning yellow/teal color combination. For the base of each card I used both 12x12” and 6x8” paper and concentrated on using ephemera to decorate each card. I love the variety die cut pieces provide, and sometimes you just have to play with different options until one of the designs creates itself by falling with the right pieces. Other times, I do have a specific plan to use a few pieces to create a floral bouquet or a fun cluster. For this specific card, I used four quadrants as the base of the card, in order to use more patterns on the card. I added a thing white border to each rectangle and adhered them to the card base with pop dots. It created a fun background for the focal point of the card right in the center. There are endless options you can make using these beautiful flowers, lemons and butterflies! Here are a couple more options I came up with while playing with these decorative pieces... Thank you for stopping by here at Simple Stories blog! Hope you were inspired by these cards today and will come back again soon for more inspiration!
