Throughout this year I've gotten more into environment art and I had numerous occasions to work in Unreal, so I decided to put knowledge into practice and make my first real-time environment inside UE4. The scene is a tribute to the Monster Hunter series, drawing inspirations from in-game locations and the overall art-direction of the franchise, but with a more stylized artstyle closer to other games that I affectionate like Zelda BOTW. This whole project was a really fun experience, helped me to hone my modeling and sculpting skills in 3dsmax/Zbrush/SpeedTree, PBR texturing in Substance Designer and Painter, and it made me way more comfortable inside Unreal, from setting up RVTs and using landscape tools, using foliage actors, building complex shaders and getting to know Niagara

This here is a concept for one of our first in game vertical slice map. To help validate the art style and pipeline. Things evolved a bit after but it was a really fun exercise with the team during the very early prototype stage for Palia. Here is a peek behind the curtain of some very early visual development concepts for Palia, before it was a game and just an idea. This project has been a massive labor of love and has been an amazing growth opportunity for me. Could not be happier with the dedication and what the team at S6 has been able to accomplish with Palia.
