Tedi Thurman (Theodora Thurman) was one of Blumenfeld's favorite models. The model's face, lit from behind, comes forward as if wrapped in a luminous halo. The features dissolve into fluidity, the contours of the hair and shoulders become fuzzy in the light. All that remains is the outline of the profile and the delicate gesture of the fingers stroking the chin.
