Hello crafty people, Today I have two cards showing the "Mackintosh ladies' in all their beauty. The first one is made on a distress ink background using some salt. I've embossed the panel and roses with Wow Black glint en coloured with water based markers.Added some gemstones..... The sentiment is from the 'Amazing birthday'sheet. The 2nd one is my favorite and I was inspired by one of the artworks of the wife of Rennie Mackintosh which was an artist too. I will show that too so you can see my source of inspiration...... original artwork of Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh I have masked the lady( Mackintosh beauty sheet) and stamped two of the panels(Mackintosh windows) on each side and extended the lines so she had a nice matching background. I've stamped on Basic Grey paper and coloured with colour pencils. I've layered her on a gold metallic embossed background and I've stamped the roses on the card behind with Versamark and added metallics Pan Pastel. I've embossed the die cut flower too and added also some Pan Pastel. If you want to see another two of my 'Mackintosh' creations, please take a look on my blog 'Mir'acle Art Inspirations It was fun playing with this beauty! Hope I have inspired you too, thanks for visiting and till next time!

Wallpaper designs of the Teens and Twenties often lagged behind the high-style Arts & Crafts designs we find fashionable today. Here’s an introduction that includes florals and oatmeal papers, and even the Colonial Revival influence.
Vintage 60's Italian modernist wall plaque Ceramic panels and plaques adorned the walls of many homes in the 50's and 60's and were a regular feature in decorating. During this era, contemporary design was strongly influenced by Italy, France, Scandinavia and the United States. The Italian input into home furnishings appeared early in the postwar period and their adoption of modernist/abstract styles helped define the ' contemporary look ' of this time. They added more flair to the modernist features which were already prevalent in Scandinavian design. Unconventional shapes and forms were combined with bold, striking colours so as to compliment the radical, innovative architecture that was also popular then. The ceramic
You have almost no cutting and only a few seams to sew with this pattern for a graceful negligee from the 1920s , courtesy of Ruth Wyeth Spears. Ruth recommends that you use a soft fabric for this dressing gown. The negligee would make a great and quick gift. If it is intended as a gift, Ruth recommends that you try to harmonize with the colors in the wearer's bedroom. Delightful!
You obviously love craft ideas, or why else would you be here; right? Well, if that is the case, you really need to go ahead and read out about the Shuttlecock Craft Ideas.

If you’re reading this, you probably already know something about beadboard in the bathroom and a high wainscot in the dining room, deep wallpaper friezes, and rich Arts & Crafts-era colors. The period itself, however, saw many varied wall and ceiling treatments not always considered in strict “bungalow revival” interiors.
The hollyhocks are definitely too early for June, but who cares? You can see why I'm smitten. The artist was Henry George Brandt. Source: House Beautiful From the Antique Home Style collection.
For bungalows and Craftsman houses with severe woodwork and furniture, Arts & Crafts textiles are a critical part of the decorative scheme. Explore options for curtains, pillows, carpets, tapestries, stitchery, stenciling, table linens and bed covers.
"Richness should be the keynote of the draped gown" Ruth Wyeth Spears says. In this home sewing tip, she describes how to create this evening gown with "metal cloth" - what we would call metallic fabr

“Home Haunter,” porcelain, fur, gold luster, china paint by Shary Boyle, 2015 That’s not to say, of course, that if you’re not as dark and demented as yours truly, that you won’t also be drawn to these gorgeous yet strange ceramic sculptures by Canadian artist, Shary Boyle. But it might help. Boyle has worked with a number of musical artists during her career, like the equally out-there Peaches and Feist. While her CV isn’t limited to sculpture (Boyle works in nearly every medium), it is her bizarre, yet enchanting sculptures that caught my eye today. Boyle’s strange ceramics, while compelling to look at, also attempt to convey powerful messages on such topics as social equality, eroticism and the emotional turmoil that we as human beings are subjected to existing in this world together. What I love most about Boyle’s off-kilter ceramics, in addition to their heavy ideas, is that they are at times somewhat amusing (to me anyway). Like her piece “Bless You,” which features a creepy white porcelain hand, with an drastically elongated middle finger pointed straight at the sky. “Home Haunter,” back view “The Dandy Widow,” 2009 “Untitled,” 2005 “Bless You,” 2014 ...

It should come as no shock to anyone that I love the Pre-Raphaelites. And by extension, I adore the interior decorating style that emerged from their work. I would strongly argue that not only are the Pre-Raphaelites the predecessors of our modern fantasy and mythic arts enthusiasts (they painting romantic tales, myths, and ballads, William Morris' books were cited as inspiration to J.R.R. Tolkien in the creation of his works), but the decorating style that emerged from their work, specifically William Morris' work, is the Victorian precedent for those of us who want to add magic and myth to our lives in modern times. I definitely see William Morris, Edward Burne-Jones, William and Evelyn de Morgan, etc. as the late Victorian equivalents of our modern Charles Vess, Charles de Lint, Terri Windling, and so on. And so by exploring the Arts & Crafts decorating style begun in large part by Morris' firm of Morris & Co., we open a portal to the lovers of myth from a different generation. I've been doing a series of posts on different decorating styles that "jive" well with the additions of Domythic details. "Domythic" really is a decorating style that can cross traditional decorating motifs and themes, as long as the underlying feel of the room is romantic and narrative. But there are some styles that just seem to blend effortlessly. And of course I chose to save my favorite, and the one I feel blends the best, for last. Arts and Crafts decorating is not entirely reliant on the patterns William Morris created for the textiles and wallpapers of his company, but boy do they ever enhance a space. Source for all above images The Green Dining Room designed by Morris for the V&A Any object can be a canvas in Arts and Crafts decorating. And personal touches abound.
