Established in 1974, Spot Travel has built up a healthy reputation for quality, service and most important, reliability. Originally started as a small taxi and minibus service serving the local area, the company has grown from strength to strength, to the now well established coach and chauffeur-driven saloon service, which serves the whole of Kent and further afield. The River Heritage mural was designed by James V. Parker for a contest held by the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri in 1986 meant to promote the newly founded (and now defunct) Riverfest downtown celebration. The mural symbolizes the history of Cape Girardeau as a river city; depicting a steamboat, the Mississippi River, and the historic Port Cape building. The mural was moved from its original location at Themis and Water streets, repainted on 11 S. Spanish Street.
