Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities August Blog Hop as we showcase alternative project ideas with the August Hope Box Kit. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as they share their ideas and projects to help inspire you to think outside the box. The August Paper Pumpkin Kit is so beautiful and it is extra special because it was created by Stampin' Up! Co-Founder, Shelli Gardner. Shelli's kits are always amazing and this one is no exception. Watch this short video to learn more about this wonderful kit. For my alternative card design, I chose to use one of the gorgeous die cuts in this month's kit. From the moment I saw this die cut, I knew it would look amazing against a Basic Black background. I love how the colors pop and bring the design to life. For the sentiment, I used one of the dies from the Ornate Frames Dies and heat embossed the image with Gold embossing powder. This simply Wow card design is so easy to create with the supplies in the kit, combined with Basic Black cardstock and Gold embossing powder. Products Used: Paper Pumpkin August 2021 Hope Box Kit (item #158541) Ornate Frames Dies (item #150664) Basic Black Cardstock Versamark Pad (item #102283) Metallics Embossing Powders (item #155555) Measurements: Basic Black Cardstock Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4") Sentiment Label die cut with the Ornate Frames Dies Detailed Die Cut from Paper Pumpkin Kit This card design is so simple to create and uses mostly supplies from the kit. To attach the large detailed die cut to the Basic Black cardstock card base, I used the Mini Glue Dots from the kit and attached them behind the butterfly bodies and centers of the flowers. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image from the exclusive stamp set in the kit with Gold embossing powder and attached it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. To add a touch of bling, I added the sequins from the kit to the bodies of the butterflies. I love how this card turned out and how vibrant the colors look against the black background. The sentiment is so uplifting and positive and fits perfectly with the card design. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to experiment with the supplies in this kit to create your own unique projects. July–December 2021 Mini Holiday Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration Brochure Have Launched....AND.... PREPARE TO SALE-A-BRATE! AUGUST 3 - SEPTEMBER 30, 2021 Sale-A-Bration is one of Stampin' Up!'s biggest promotions of the year. It’s packed with perks for demonstrators, overflowing with opportunities for customers and filled with fun for everyone! My share for today is an Alternate Faith, Hope, Love Card that I designed using the contents from Stampin' Up!'s August 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Hope Box. Stampin' Up! cofounder, Shelli Gardner, created the Hope Box to help us find what makes us hopeful. We can collect mementos and precious objects and keep a curated Hope Box as a place to turn to for some self-love and inspiration. Thank you so much Shelli for such a beautiful kit. Let's take a look: My Card Base is the Pool Party Card Base from the Hope Box Paper Pumpkin Kit. My Card Front Panel is from the Melon Mambo Card Base in the Kit trimmed out to measure 2-1/4" x 5-1/2". I cut a length from the Blackberry Bliss Ribbon from the Kit, wrapped it around my Card Front Panel and adhered the Ribbon in the back with both Mono Multi Purpose Glue and tape. I adhered the Card Front Panel to my Card Base with Mono Multi Purpose Glue. I fussy cut apart the Large Butterfly/Flower die cut in the Kit. I adhered the Large/Small Butterfly to the center of my Ribbon with small pieces of Stampin' Dimensionals. I adhered the two medium Butterflies to my Ribbon and the two half pieces of Flowers to my Card Front Panel with Mono Multi Purpose Glue. (I tucked the ends of the Flowers underneath the Ribbon. I masked the stamps in the Hope Box Stamp Set and only stamped 'faith' and 'hope' in Blackberry Bliss Ink onto the Multi Color Panel in the kit and trimmed them out on my Stampin' Trimmer as shown in the picture above. I adhered them to my Card with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. I adhered one of the Banners in the Kit to the inside of my Card with Mono Multi Purpose Glue. Using A Good Man Stamp Set, I masked the stamp and only stamped the word 'LOVE' in Blackberry Bliss Ink onto the Multi Colored panel in the kit and trimmed it out. I adhered the word to the inside of my Card with Mono Multi Purpose Glue. I adhered five of the Adhesive Backed Sequins from the kit to my Card with Mono Multi Purpose Glue. I used Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo, Bumblebee for one card and Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron, & Bumblebee for the other. Stamp the Large & Small Butterfly image in all colors. Then clean the stamp and flip it over so you stamp with the solid back. Ink up the back in the same colors, but before stamping over the coordinating image, stamp off twice, then stamp over the butterfly image. Fussy cut out. 2- Stamp the Scattered Dots image in Pool Party ink down the center of the 3 ¾” x 5” piece of Pool Party Cardstock. Add this to the front of the cardbase. 3- Add the butterflies down the center of the card with glue dots. Leave a space in the center for the greeting. 4- Stamp your choice of greeting in Blackberry Bliss on the 1 ½” circle. You can mix and match your words by inking up just the word you want from a larger greeting and stamping it on the circle. 5- Add adhesive to the back of the greeting and fold the ribbon in half, adhere to the back. Then add to the center of the card with dimensionals. Place three Artistry Blooms Sequins around the card. All Done! Keep the black back side for a future card. 3- On the back of the die cut piece, score the 5 ½” side at 1 ½” & 4”. Use a pair of scissors and cut down both score lines. Add this to the card with dimensionals. 6- Stamp the other greetings “Where there is” & “there is faith” on the two small rectangle labels. Add these above and below Hope. 7- Add three sequins Card #2- 1- Cut the Bermuda Bay Piece into three vertical sections at 1 3/16”. Use washi tape to hold pieces in place as you add dimensionals to the back. Then adhere to the center of a Thick Basic White Cardbase. 3- Place the Banner at an angle a little below middle. Then find the other 1 ½” Die cut piece and fussy cut around the outside edge. Add this above the Banner. 5- Pull another 4-5 strands from the 12” piece of ribbon and tie a large floppy bow. Adhere between the banner and flower on the right side with a glue dot. 4- Stamp the greeting on the Basic White 5/8” strip. Add this to the center of the Pool Party Cardbase with dimensionals. 2- Stamp the greeting in the circle label. 3- Use another 4-5 strands of the ribbon and do a faux double bow on the back. Add the greeting to the bottom left corner of the center panel with dimensionals. 4- Add three sequins. All Done! Then open the Envelope and place the score line around the 7cm or 2 ¾” mark on your paper trimmer. Trim the top flap off, then rotate and measure to 5 ¼” and trim the bottom. Then remove the sides down to 4”. Finish piece should be 4” x 5 ¼”. Repeat for the other envelopes. Card #1- 1- On the Yellow Flower Background, stamp “HOPE” in Poppy Parade to the left of the design above the score line. Then stamp “Where there is faith…” in Poppy Parade under the score line with about ½” space between the two greetings. 2- Wrap 18” of Crumb Cake Twine around the background and tie a bow. Adhere the bow on the score line to cover it. 3- Stamp “Where there is” & “there is faith” in Bumblebee Ink on the two small rectangle labels. Add the first above HOPE with dimensionals, and the second over the twine & bow with dimensionals as well. 4- Add this to the So Saffron Cardbase. 5- Add a small gradient butterfly die cut to the top left corner and three sequins around the greetings. Card #2- 1- Use the flap from the Butterfly Background/Envelope and cut a 1” x 4” piece that includes part of the Melon Mambo “splash” of color. Add this over the score line on the Butterfly background piece, with the Melon Mambo part to the left. 2- Stamp the large & small butterflies in different ink colors (Bumblebee, Melon Mambo, & Bermuda Bay) along the left side of the background. 3- Stamp only “Just a note of” from the “Just a note of Hope” stamp by covering “Hope” with washi tape, inking the image, then removing the washi tape before stamping. Stamp it on the right side of the white butterflies on the background. Add the Large Hope Label under the greeting and over the Melon Mambo strip with dimensionals. 4- Stamp one Large & one Small Butterfly in Blackberry Bliss Ink on the leftover back cardbase piece (from yesterday’s alternatives) and fussy cut out. Add to the left of the Large Hope label. Also add a small Bermuda Bay & Bumblebee Die Cut Butterfly to the Butterfly area on the left of the background. 5- Add everything to the Mint Macron Cardbase. Remove 4-5 strands from 12” of the Blackberry Bliss Ribbon and tie into a bow. Create a double bow by placing it on a glue dot and wrapping the ends into a bow shape adhering to the glue dot. Add to the bottom left corner of the Hope label. Add three sequins around the card. Card #3- 1- Cut from the extra back cardbase a 2 ¾” x 3” rectangle and stamp the large greeting in Blackberry Bliss ink. On the Large Tomorrow and Small Hope Labels from the other languages, stamp Hope & Tomorrow on the back in Melon Mambo ink. Adhere over the same words in the greeting. 2- Add the Pink & Purple Polka Dot Background to the front of the Fresh Freesia Cardbase. Cut a 4” piece of ribbon from the ribbon we have been using to remove the strings from, I like that it looks worn. Add this to the center of the card to cover the score line. 3- Place the greeting over the ribbon in the center of the card with dimensionals. 4- Add the Melon Mambo & Blackberry Bliss Butterfly Die Cuts and three sequins around the greeting. All Done! I have also created a video walking you through each step: To purchase any of the products you see in this video visit https://www.stampinup.com?demoid=2042902 Have a creative day!
