Create this sympathy card using the Simply Elegant 12" x 12" paper and free Special Moments Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! #papercraftwithme
What a perfect name for this suite of products. I think this may well be one of the most elegant sets of paper I have ever owned and I have been having some fun with it. Today’s share is a very quick and simple card that uses heat embossing to make it pop. The card base is Basic Gray cardstock that is cut 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”. I started this card by stamping my sentiment “Wishing you a wonderful Birthday” from the Elegantly Said stamp set, right onto the far-right bottom of my card using VersaMark ink. I then added gold stampin’ emboss powder from the Metallics collection and heat set it using my Heat Tool (I love the beautiful raised affect you get from embossing). Once that was done, I added a piece of the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper (don’t you love those beautiful golden arches), that measured 3 x 5 ½” butting it right up against the top of the card. I then added a piece of Gold Foil that measured ½ x 5 ½” (this does a great job of hiding the seam from the DSP and you could also use ribbon for this if you wanted). Next, I stamped the pretty flowers onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock using VersaMark ink and again used the gold stampin’ emboss powder and the heat tool to emboss it. Once it was done, I simply fussy cut them out. I added some of the gold twine that is called Simply Elegant Trim looping it a couple times behind the flowers. I popped this up on my card using Dimensionals. As I promised this really is a simple card. You could also stamp those same flowers on the inside of the card perhaps using basic gray ink so it coordinated really well. I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it. Use the ONE stamp, Many Messages, with the ONE Messages Die, to die cut 19 sentiments with one pass, through your die cutting machine! Use this same die to die cut 19 other sentiments from the Many Happenings stamp set, page 42 of the annual catalog. I die cut a foil piece from this same die, and placed it behind my sentiment on the first card. I used my Stamparatus with this ONE stamp. Use a piece of card stock that is 5.25 x 6.25 so that you are able to get the whole image stamped and have enough room...

Hi There! Its Bruno here and I have some simple projects to share with you today. Make sure you read till the end of this project to find out about the Join+ Promotion where you can get $114 of products FREE! But, back to the projects. When I first saw the catalogue, there was one sheet of paper that was simply my favourite sheet of Designer Series Paper ...... EVER! It was THIS sheet.... It is absolutely gorgeous! It reminds me of the Chrysler Building in New York and is a quintessential Art Deco pattern. I love that the base colour is Basic Grey. So, when I started out on this project, I wanted to create something that truly featured the paper and anything else would be complementary. Here is what I ended up with; Its a Basic Grey card base with the DSP as the main feature with a piece if Gold Foil over the top and an intermediate layer in Basic Grey. It's a simple card, but I love how it turned out. Its very moody (like me, I guess!) So, I liked how it turned out. So, I set out to try making two other cards using two other sheets of the Specialty DSP with foil. Here is the second card (using Basic Black and Copper Foil) And, here is the third card with Basic White and Golf Foil. For each of the sentiments, I embossed onto card stock and hand cut and adhered to the card base using dimensionals. Which card is your favourite? Leave a comment below and let me know. I know which one is my favourite. The Stampin' Up! Starter Kit is the BEST deal! Typically, with the purchase of a starter kit, you pay $169 and receive $235 worth of products - thats $66 FREE!!!! However, between May 4-31, the deal is as follows; Pay $169 and receive $283 worth of products! That is a whopping $114 worth of products FREE!!!! Hello, All the images on this card are from the Elegantly Said stamp set (#155095). I stamped the detailed swirls using VersaMark (#102283) and heat embossed it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder (#155555) and set with the Heat Tool (#129056). I used the Stamparatus (#148187) to stamp the images on both pieces of Basic White card (#159228). Then the white cards were attached to the Gorgeous Grape card (#147011). The ribbon is Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon (#154572). I stamped the flowers with Gorgeous Grape ink (#147099) and then fussy cut them. Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (#144108) were used to attach this to the card. The sentiment was also stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink. After assembling the card I added the Pastel Pearls (#154571). The specials for the designer series papers finishes on 2nd August, so don't delay if you still want to take advantage of these discounts. Check out all the Designer Series Paper packs in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog! Plus learn about some related DSP resources.
Today I'm thrilled to be taking part in: I have chosen to use the stamp set Elegantly Said and the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper. These will both be available in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue which will be available from 4th May 2021. I have a very bad habit of not using the Specialty DSP because it is just so gorgeous! I feel really guilty about it and have been trying to change and have made every effort to #loveitchopit!!! A technique I picked up years ago is to use multiple embossing powders on the one image. Because the Simply Elegant SDSP looks like it has copper, silver and black in it, I thought it would be a good time to dust it off! Card Measurements Card base: 29.7cm x 10.5cm scored at 14.9cm and folded (I used Shimmery White card stock) 1st layer: 14.5cm x 5cm (SDSP) Scrap for sentiment, matting and flower Piece of plastic straw cut at an angle Instructions Adhere SDSP to front of card base Stamp image on scrap using versamark Using the plastic straw, scoop up a little bit of embossing powder and by gently tapping straw add it in the area you want it on the stamped image Repeat the last step until you have used your three embossing powders and stamped image is completely covered Tip excess embossing powder off into a bin (it's not a lot and it can't go back into the original container as the colours will be all mixed up) Heat set embossed image Fussy cut image Adhere image to front of card base using mini dimensionals Stamp sentiment on scrap using memento Adhere sentiment to matting Adhere matted sentiment to front of card base using mini dimensionals Adhere metallic pearls to front of card base Stamp image on inside back of card base using memento I hope you try the multi coloured heat embossing, it's fun and always interesting in how it turns out! You're sure to find heaps more to interest or inspire you on the other blogs. You are on my page - Deb Macdowell - Inkstability. To visit the other blogs in this hop, simply click on the links below. I'd love to hear what you think about the technique I used. Please share any of your projects using it in the comments below. Cheers Deb xx
