An artist with a very creative imagination and the skills to make them a reality. Matt Wilson, has a background in in art, with a degree from Winthrop University. The subjects included painting and drawing, that said, as he graduated and started working, he developed a fascination with metal sculpting and was given a job, that to me, sounds amazing. The following is an extract from his site: "Upon interviewing with Loy Stewart, the owner of Detyens, he was offered a unique opportunity - to become the resident artist and learn how to weld. Matt's primary job is to build metal models of the ships that are serviced in the shipyard. The models are then given to the port engineers as a "thank you for your business"." When he is not building model ships, he creates amazing animal sculptures, like the ones below. Beautiful forms and great lines, made out of recycled materials like: bone, driftwood, scrap metal, etc, then upcycled to give the animals, a great stylised look. Anglerfish.
