Because I have awesome in-laws, I haven't had to host a Thanksgiving dinner for the past several years. It's stressful having to prepare dinner for a huge crowd. You spend half a day in the kitchen getting everything together, then 15 minutes after the table is set the dinner has been gobbled up. I'm glad my mother-in-law takes over cooking up the meal, but it does make me a bit sad that we don't get those holiday leftovers. Instead of going out into the madness on Black Friday, I thought I'd stay in and make a mini Thanksgiving dinner for just my family. Instead of roasting a huge turkey, I'll make Jason and the girls some Honey Glazed Cornish Game Hens from a recipe I got off of Golden Blossom Honey. This is a very simple recipe to follow, without a lot of prep work, so I can still feel like I've made a holiday dinner without a lot of fuss. Plus, I don't have to run back and forth to the oven multiple times to baste the meat so I'll spend less time in the kitchen and more time to putting up our tree and Christmas decorations.
