A small village close to Stow-on-the Wold and the site of a significant archaeological relic, Condicote Henge. A late Neolithic monument consisting of a circular bank with a large inner ditch and smaller outer one. The road to Longborough bisects the circle from which the low remaining bank is visible. It is the only henge monument discovered in Gloucestershire and is at the heart of a ceremonial landscape consisting of sixty round barrow within a three-mile radius. At the centre of the village is an attractive circular green surrounded by a stone wall, with a wayside cross on one side and the 12th century church on the other. www.bwthornton.co.uk
