I am a Welsh artist and my passion is painting happy, whimsical, quirky pictures, usually of animals. ABOUT THE PAINTING Here are high quality giclee canvas prints, taken from my original oil painting of my bumble bee painting, "Busy." This was a really fun painting to do as bees are so whimsical to look art with their little fluffy bodies, yellow stripes and spindly legs. I love them as many of us do. Bees are so important to us which is why so many of us have such an affection for them. This canvas print would be the perfect gift for any bee lover. CANVAS PRINTS Our bumblebee canvas Giclee prints are ready to hang. You do not need to frame them. They are printed onto our quality cotton canvas. The canvas is stretched around wooden stretcher bars of 2cm depth. This "frameless" way of presenting the picture makes it look as if it is "floating" on the wall, giving it a lovely contemporary feel. They are finished in a subtle gloss varnish. Giclee (pronounced je-clay) is a type of very high quality printing ink. Giclee comes from the French word "gicler" to squirt. The lightfast inks, which are acid free and lightfast, are sprayed onto the paper. It is believed that this process achieves the closest match technically possible to the original piece of artwork. Giclee prints use inkjet technology and are far more sophisticated than your normal desktop printer. Giclee prints are known for their longevity and are the choice of art galleries, museums and collectors. ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING My original painting of my bees can be seen in the last of the above photos. It is painted in oils onto a canvas board and measures 20 x 20 inches. It will be signed with my initials of "EB" in the bottom right hand corner and varnished with a subtle gloss finish. It is unframed but if you would like to hang it temporarily, I can easily add some hanging tags. Just ask me.
