The word 'Heisei edition' has become a synonym for late, posthumous printings of Japanese shin hanga prints made from the original blocks after 1989, the beginning of the Japanese Heisei period. Another word used for these late printings is atozuri. The Japanese art print publishers usually mark these late printings with a stamp as Heisei editions. But not all Heisei editions are marked as later impressions.
