Inti Raymi, also known as the Festival of the Sun, is one of the most important and emblematic celebrations of the Inca culture. This festivity takes place every June 24 in Cusco, Peru, coinciding with the winter solstice in the Southern Hemisphere (21 june) . For a long time Inti Raymi has been an event of great transcendence, since it represents the renewal and veneration of the Sun God, "Inti", as the source of life and fertility.
