Bath rituals are so much more than an ordinary bath. They emphasize the healing properties of natural elements, self-care practices, and carving out a sacred time to tune into yourself. And the beauty of bath rituals is that you don’t need a fancy bathroom or clawfoot tub to soak up their goodness. All you need is water and an intention. From there, you can build a bath ritual that is unique and fulfilling. If you’re curious about how to elevate your ordinary baths into sacred self-care rituals, keep on reading. 1. Set the Mood As your bath is running, take this time to set the mood. One of the best ways to create a relaxing, spa-like ambiance is by dimming the lights and lighting some candles. If there is any visual clutter, remove it from your space so you can focus solely on relaxation. Some people love a silent bath, while others like to play calming music – either is great as long as it aligns with what you need. You can also take this time to focus on some self-care. A few minutes of dry brushing or doing a body gua sha massage can boost circulation, calm stress, and prepare you for a relaxing soak. We also love taking this time to brew a cup of herbal tea, grab a book or journal, and do some deep breathing. 2. Choose an Intention As you prepare your bath, consider what your mind, body, and soul want or need. Whether you want to calm a racing mind or get ready for a restful night’s sleep, setting an intention can help you better receive the healing benefits of the bath. If you’d like, you can also choose an affirmation to meditate on while you bathe. You can ground your intention or affirmation by lighting palo santo and smudging the area or choosing a crystal that represents what you need (rose quartz for self-love, for example) and setting it by your tub. 3. Add Soaking Salts or Herbs This is where your creativity comes in! There are so many healing benefits of soaking in hot water (increased blood circulation, better sleep, improved immunity), but you can elevate your bath ritual even further with natural plants and salts. Adding pure Epsom or Dead Sea salts to your bath can soothe itchy skin and relax aching muscles. Infusing your bath water with a high-quality seaweed powder can supply your skin with vitamins while adding a cup of organic colloidal oats can soothe dryness. To make a bath feel even more special, add organic fresh flowers to your bath water (we love roses) or a few drops of your favorite essential oil. You can reap the benefits of teas and other botanicals by brewing them in hot water for 15 minutes while your water is running. You can then add the strained infusion into your water and enjoy! 4. Sync Up with the Moon Known as moon bathing, you can use your bath time to tap into the ancient rhythms of the moon and its phases. New Moons are a time to go inwards, so tapping into this energy by bathing on a New Moon can help you ground, relax, and reflect. Full Moons, on the other hand, are exuberant and lively. Use this time to tap into abundance and focus your energy on what brings you joy. Always Pure, Always Natural #watercressglow
